RACHEL E., FORMER CLIENT, NOW IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY
A Flexible Program for Every Stage of Recovery
The Journey To Recovery Program is a flexible support pathway that adapts to you — typically ranging from 1 to 3 sessions per week and lasting anywhere from 3 to 12 months, depending on your goals and stage of recovery.
It can function as:
-
A higher-structure support track for people who are newly sober, struggling to maintain sobriety, or returning to recovery
-
An ongoing growth pathway if you’ve completed treatment and want steady accountability, momentum, and support
-
A transformational coaching process for people in long-term recovery who feel stuck, want deeper work, or are ready for “recovery 2.0”
Your level of support expands or relaxes depending on your needs, your goals, and the pace that feels right for you.

A Truly Unique Program
Where Clinical Recovery Meets Transformational Work
The Journey To Recovery Program integrates evidence-based clinical modalities from substance use treatment — including the Stages of Change and core relapse-prevention principles — with deeper work grounded in story, symbol, and psycho-spiritual development.
This approach draws on:
-
Decades of addiction counseling and lived recovery
-
Jungian and spiritual psychology
-
Music, storytelling, and symbolic imagery
-
Grounded, practical tools for real life
The creative work isn’t separate from the clinical work — rather, it’s how insight, motivation, and meaning become personal and lasting.
In many cases the program is designed to complement the work you’ve already begun in treatment or 12-Step recovery, giving those gains a place to grow through tools you can actually use beyond the therapy room.
The result is a recovery process that is both practical and genuinely transformational.
Meet Your Guide
Jim Savage, LCDC, CADC
I’ve been helping people navigate addiction and recovery for more than thirty years — as a counselor, educator, program creator, and someone who has walked this path myself.
Early in my career, I relapsed into my own addiction. It forced me to reevaluate everything I believed about recovery. The Journey To Recovery grew out of that turning point — discovering, firsthand, what actually works, what doesn’t, and how real transformation happens from the inside out.
Over the decades, I’ve blended clinical skill with creative work — music, storytelling, symbolic depth, guided practices — to create programs that help people experience their own breakthroughs, not just talk about them. I’ve used The Journey To Recovery with clients for more than three decades, continually refining it as I learn from the people I work with.
I take recovery seriously. There’s nothing I love more than sharing this work with clients and watching you find the spark that moves you toward your own transformational journey.
And I also like to have a lot of fun doing this.
