"I don't know how to meditate!"
A common challenge for people new to working a recovery program is the fact that we tend to be so disconnected from ourselves. But the irony here is that while there are many circumstances that might lead people into addictions or other patterns of self-defeating behaviors, there is usually one underlying common denominator in all these cases. And that's the desire for connection.

Allowing ourselves to slow down and relax, learning how to "go within" for self-examination or developing our capacity for spiritual guidance—these can be daunting new behaviors that for many can be quite challenging.Â
And it's understandable that when people look up on the wall at a 12-Step meeting and see the word "meditation" in one of the steps, that's when we start hearing the frustrated cries of "But I don't know how to meditate!"Â
The good news is:Â It doesn't have to be that hard!
The even better news is: There's a whole world waiting for you that can lead to powerful new ways of developing your own personal power and connecting with yourself. This course is about giving you the tools for opening the door to that world and harnessing the power of meditation.
The Journey To The Heart
It's said that the longest journey can sometime be from our head into our our heart. The title of this course implies the value of being able to recognize the difference between rational, logical thought (head) and intuitive guidance (Heart). Both have their place; unfortunately many of us are much more familiar with being our "head," and we miss out on the vast potential that comes from being able to access the inner guidance that comes from being in our "Heart."
